About Sofia Vergara

Vergara was born Sofía Margarita Vergara Vergara in Barranquilla on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Her discovery by a photographer on the beach quickly led to modeling and acting work.

Vergara’s breakthrough came quickly. She became famous for a Pepsi commercial in which she joyfully jumped up and down on the beach. Being well-endowed, the commercial quickly became popular.

Some Latins don’t like Vergara because she plays negative stereotypes of Latin women. But like other Latin bombshells in entertainment history, Vergara has played those roles all the way to the bank. In September 2016, “Forbes” reported Vergara’s annual earnings at $43 million, placing her at #58 on “Forbes” 2016 Celebrity 100 earnings list.
