Terraza 7 is a Latin jazz club in Elmhurst, Queens, just across Roosevelt Avenue from Little Colombia in Jackson Heights. It’s Colombian-owned, but everyone goes. 🇨🇴

It is one of NYC’s most unique Latin night clubs. The curation is mostly jazz and folk. Actually, Terraza 7 is more than a nightclub ~ it’s a community.

About Terraza 7

From the street you may notice that the facade looks like one of the old churches that is the center of every pueblo pequeño (little town) in Latin America. The bar is owned by a former doctor who takes care of the building like it is his patient. He’s originally from Colombia, so if you’re from South America, you’ll feel at home the moment you walk in.

The stage is suspended over the bar, so it’s really unique. Terraza means “terrace” in Spanish, and it’s near the (7) Train, so it’s Terraza 7 of course. There are many “terrazas” across the Latin world. The owner is a graduate of Universidad Nacional de Colombia which is sort of the UC Berkeley of Colombia. Graduates tend to become politicians or at least active in their communities.

Terraza 7 has a great funky underground community vibe. It’s one of those special places that you’ll only find in New York City. And it’s open from 4pm to 4am nightly, so you always have someplace cool to go, even late at night. Happy Hour is every day from 4-8pm.

PS: There are really good taco trucks around the corner on Roosevelt Ave.

Take some cash to tip the musicians because playing live music in New York City is hard. We tip $20 for each person in our party.
