The 1st NYC Indigenous Peoples Day Parade is a long, long dream come true.
The parade was dreamed by Cherokee Lenape Visionary Firebird GrayWolf, Cultural Director of the Turtle Island Indigenous People of the Northeast Cultural Foundation.
The dream is manifesting through the organization of Carla Alexander, SubChief of the Deer Clan of the Ramapough Lenape Nation with the sponsorship of Chief Vincent Mann, Chief of the Turtle Clan and the Ramapough Land Trust Foundation.
The 111 of the 1st New Yorkers, 1st Nations and 1st Parade makes an Angel Number. It means that this is the start of a new beginning, with new opportunities on the way.
1st NYC Indigenous Peoples Day Parade
The parade’s official name is The Indigenous Peoples of the Americas Parade.
The 1st NYC Indigenous Peoples Day Parade starts with a gathering for speakers and community prayers in the north end of Madison Square Park along 26th St, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 8am – 12 noon. It then marches down Broadway (the Lenape road), from 26th St near Madison Square to 17th St at Union Square, from 12noon – 3pm. Free! Facebook 🇺🇸
The parade’s Grand Marshall is Peter Brooks of the Piscataway Nation of Baltimore (Grandson of Cab Calloway of Cotton Club fame).
