The saying is that Latins fought in every American war since the Revolutionary War. But we are Indigenous and Black too, so we fought in that war too.

Latins make up 17% of active-duty members in 2022, mostly in the Marine Corps. There are around 1.3 million Latin veterans. By 2045, this number is projected to grow by 50%.

We have served in every American war, since the Revolutionary War. There have been over 60 Hispanic Medal of Honor winners.

Fort Hood, Texas has been renamed Fort Cavazos, for the Mexican American four-star general who led the 65th Regiment, the U.S. Army’s only all-Hispanic regiment, nicknamed the “Borinqueneers” for its brave Puerto Rican soldiers, during the Korean War.
