The tribute honors Golden Lion-winning (Venice Biennale) New York Iranian artist Shirin Neshat and Pulitzer Prize-winning architectural critic Paul Goldberger (“Sky Line” in the “New Yorker”). Goldberger will give a tour of his house. Neshat will give a tour of her studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Don’t you love to explore other people’s houses?
Loving couple honorary chairs include Bill T. Jones & Bjorn Amelan, and Eric Fischl & April Gornik, both artists. Jones (Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company at New York Live Arts) is a renowned African American choreographer who has done a lot of work developing contemporary dance in Cuba. These artists know how to spread the love.
There will be music and love songs by classical composer Nico Muhly, experimental musician Laurie Anderson, guitarist G.E. Smith (Saturday Night Live, Hall & Oates), Taylor Burton, soprano Joy Jan Jones, singer Rufus Wainwright, Jamaican reggae artist Royal Khaoz and architect Lee Skolnick.
