Follow the Latin athletes competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics at PyeongChang, South Korea from February 9 – 25, 2018.


Olympic Torch Relay

The traditional relay carrying a lit Olympic torch from Greece, the site of the ancient Olympic Games, to the current site of the games PyeongChang, South Korea will take 101 days. The relay started on October 24, 2017.

The relay entered Korea on November 1, 2017. 7,500 torch bearers are carrying the torch throughout Korea.

Ecuador Makes its Winter Olympics Debut

Klaus Jungbluth Rodriguez is competing in Men’s 15 km freestyle cross country sking. He was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

From his name, we’ll guess that Klaus has a German father and an Ecuadorian mother. Fantastic!

Jungbluth will carry the Ecuadorian flag in the opening ceremony.
