Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square is New York City’s biggest Christmas holiday party.
The festival is usually held on the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend. Lincoln Square’s sidewalks and public spaces come alive with music, performers, processional groups, jugglers, stilt-walkers, food tastings and more.

20th Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square 2019
Monday, December 2, 2019 ~ Ronnie Spector and the Ronettes headlines the show at this year’s Tree Lighting Ceremony on Broadway from Columbus Circle to 70th St from 5:30 to 9pm (rain or shine).
The weather was bad last year too, but people still went because it’s a great winter holiday festival. Bundle up. You’re a New Yorker.
Latin artists in this year’s lineup include:
Dante Park Main Stage
- Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas play New Orleans Creole music on from 6:30-7:30pm.
- Grupo Rebolu plays Colombian tropical music from 8-9pm.
Richard Tucker Park Stage
- Alicia Svigals’ Klezmer Fiddle Express plays European Jewish music from 6-7:15pm.
1900 Broadway
- Mariachi Nuevo Mexico plays Mexican mariachi sets at 6pm, 7:15pm and 8:15pm.
Bed Bath & Beyond
- Salvadoran violinist Monica Portillo performs all evening
Frey Plaza
- Fusha Dance Company performs dances of the African diaspora throughout the evening.
- Fuákata’s Rueda de Casino dances Cuban salsa throughout the evening

19th Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square 2018
The Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square street fair is on Broadway from Columbus Circle to 70th St, in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5:30 – 9pm. FREE
Folk music legends Judy Collins and Arlo Guthrie are master of ceremonies and headliner. There are more than 20 free live performances and activities.
Judy Collins is remembered for her hits Both Sides Now, Send in the Clowns and Amazing Grace. Her latest single Dreamers tells its story from the perspective of a DACA dreamer’s mom.
Arlo Guthrie and the Guthrie Family will lead the Upper West Side’s only holiday tree lighting ceremony at the Dante Park Main Stage on Broadway between 63rd and 64th St.
The ceremony kicks off the event and will be televised on Channel 7 WABC. Frank London’s Klezmer Allstars and Latin boogaloo band Spanglish Fly will continue the fun.
Maurice “Mobetta” Brown perfoms at the American Folk Art Museum stage on Columbus Ave between 65th and 66th St.
Theo Croker and The Nashville Attitude perform across Columbus Avenue.
The Café Wha? Band and DJ Tom Macari will get you moving at the TD Bank Dance Tent on 62nd St near Columbus Ave.
The Lucy Yeghiazryan Trio performs on the second floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle.
Combo Chimbita plays Colombian cumbia at the David Rubenstein Atrium.
A Steinway self-playing Spirio piano performs at the Apple Store on Broadway and 67th St.
Bolivian dance group FFC Caporales Universitarios San Simon New York joins Dance Parade dance troupes at Frey Plaza on Broadway between 60th and 61st St.
There will bemore roving entertainers and low-cost food tastings.
The party goes on rain or shine. Today’s rain ends early, so head on out to Lincoln Square for some family fun.
18th Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square 2017
The 18th Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square festival is at Dante Park at Broadway & 63rd up Broadway to 70th St on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 5:30 – 9 pm (rain, snow, or shine).
Entertainment
Micky Dolenz of the 1960s Pop Rock band The Monkees is the evening’s headliner.
Puerto Rican dance troupe Danza Fiesta: Baile y Teatro Puertoriqueño, and Bolivian dance troupe Fraternidad Folklorica Caporales Universitarios San Simón Filial New York are among the dance performers in Frey Plaza on the east side of Broadway between 60th and 61st St from 6 – 9 pm.
Mariachi Nuevo Mexico performs at 1900 Broadway between 63rd & 64th St at 7:15 & 8:15 pm.
Puppet Parade
Processional Arts Workshop (PAW) Frost Giants (Jötunn) will parade through the streets. PAW also does the lead performances at the Village Halloween Parade.
