World Puppetry Day is Fun

World Puppetry Day brings together all the puppeteers of Earth on March 21.

The day seeks to promote the traditions and the future of puppetry. It was started by UNIMA – Union Internationale de la Marionnette in 2003 at the suggestion of Iranian puppeteer Javad Zolfaghari. UNIMA is an NGO affiliated with UNESCO.

The best place we know to look for World Puppetry Day events, is Teatro SEA, New York’s Latino theatre for young audiences. Their bilingual puppet theatre is some of our favorite New York theatre.
