Kíko ~ My biggest lesson in 20 years of studying Latin culture is how African we are. That is as true for Americans as it is for Latins. Many Latins ~ even if we don’t look African ~ have a cultural memory of Mother Afrika. American culture is defined by African American culture, and African Americans are proudly recovering their roots in Ghana’s Akan tradition of Sankofa!
Latin art has seen an upswell in interest in the last few years. Africa’s creative output is generating global interest in African art. Now is a good time to enter the market. The world is paying attention.
