Twenty blocks of East Harlem transform into the largest Latin street festival in the Northeast, with three stages of live music, community art, food vendors, and the full electric energy that only El Barrio can produce.
41st 116th Street Festival 2026
Three stages bring live performances across salsa, reggaeton, Latin trap, and more. Food vendors line the blocks with the flavors of the Caribbean — mofongo, pernil, tostones, and everything in between. Nonprofit organizations, merchants, and corporate sponsors fill the corridor with activations, cultural programming, and community resources.
It’s equal parts block party, cultural celebration, and neighborhood homecoming.

El Abrazo del Barrio
What started in 1985 as Abrazo Fraternal — a grassroots community embrace — has grown into one of New York City’s signature cultural events. Founded by David Acosta, Bob Acosta, and Nick Lugo under the banner of Abrazo del Barrio, the festival was born to honor Puerto Rican heritage in East Harlem and to build momentum heading into the National Puerto Rican Day Parade weekend.
More than four decades later, it draws hundreds of thousands of people to the streets of El Barrio every June.
