“El Viaje de la Marimba” trailer

The opening night screening of “El Viaje de la Marimba” by Marino Aguado, is followed by an opening night after party. The documentary explores how the marimba and balafons (xyolophones) connect Senegal, Mexico, Germany, Ecuador, the United States, and Colombia. Colombian International Film Festival New York

The Festival was founded in 2012. It is the largest Colombian film festival outside of Colombia. It was founded by director Juan Carvajal, a filmmaker from Cali. He is the co-founder and artistic director of IndieBo, the Bogotá Independent Film Festival in Colombia. The Festival is produced by Ivonne Torres.

The Festival has Fiction, Documentary, Short Films, and Restored Film sections.
