Andrea Bocelli is “The World’s Greatest Voice”

Andrea Bocelli was born in 1958 in Lajatico, a small village in Tuscany. He was blinded by a football accident when he was 12.

Bocelli’s break came in 1992 when an audition to make a demo for Italian rock singer Zucchero Fornaciari turned into the recording of Miserere with Luciano Pavarotti. That led to a recording deal.

Fornaciari took Bocelli on tour in 1993 and wrote Il mare calmo della sera for him. That became Bocelli’s first single and the title of his first album (1994).

Albums

  • Bocelli’s second album “Bocelli” (1995) went multi-platinum.
  • Bocelli entered the pop world with 1997’s “Romanza.” It made him a superstar.
  • Sacred Arias (1999) is one of the best selling classical crossover albums of all time.
  • In 2016 Bocelli released a 20th Anniversary edition of “Romanza.”
  • In 2018, Bocelli release “Si.”
  • In 2020, Bocelli released “Believe.”
  • “A Family Christmas” (2022) featured Bocelli’s children Matteo and Virginia Bocelli.
