Andrea Bocelli Brings “A Family Christmas” to Madison Square Garden

Andrea Bocelli is a multiple Grammy-nominated Italian tenor who has crossed over into pop music. He is one of the best-selling classical music artists of all time.

Many artists who work with Bocelli, speak of a special something, which can only be described as a strong spirituality.

The World’s Greatest Voice

Andrea Bocelli was born in 1958 in Lajatico, a small village in Tuscany. He was blinded by a football accident when he was 12.

Bocelli’s break came in 1992 when an audition to make a demo for Italian rock singer Zucchero Fornaciari turned into the recording of Miserere with Luciano Pavarotti. That led to a recording deal.

Fornaciari took Bocelli on tour in 1993 and wrote Il mare calmo della sera for him. That became Bocelli’s first single and the title of his first album (1994).
