The Battery Dance Festival 2022 is a free public dance festival that draws 30 international dance companies to New York City. There are in-person and live-streamed performances of both established dance companies and some very fine, young up-and-coming artists.
Some festival participants offer $1 dance workshops which are of interest to professional and serious amateur dancers. batterydance.org
Battery Dance Company does lots of international outreach to develop young artists around the world through dance. What they do deserves our support.
New York City Harbor and the Statue of Liberty are NYC’s most spectacular dance theatre backdrop. The park has lots of grass around the festival for children to play while you watch the performances. The festival draws over 12,000 guests and over 35,000 virtual viewers.
