Bernie Williams, the former Yankee All-Star, is also a Latin Grammy-nominated classical, jazz, rocker. He’s as good at jazz as he is at baseball. People really love Bernie because he never got in trouble like some stars. Bernie is an honorable man. He’s Puerto Rican from San Juan.

Bernie Williams and His All-Star Band

When he was 16, Williams fell in love with baseball and music. His merchant marine father brought home a Spanish guitar and that did it. After his baseball career, Williams earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

“The Journey Within”

Williams’ 2003 major label debut was a Latin Jazz album. The album featured David Benoit, Rubén Blades and Gilberto Santa Rosa.

“Moving Forward”

Williams’ 2009 album featured Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, Jon Secada and David Koz. It was nominated for a Latin Grammy for “Best Instrumental Album.”

Bernie Williams #51 Yankee Tribute

Williams was a New York Yankees center fielder from 1991 to 2006. He played in four Yankees World Series, was a five-time MLB All-Star and won four Golden Glove Awards.
