Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is One of the World’s Largest Tennis Complexes

The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is a tennis stadium complex in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. It’s the home of the US Open tennis championship over Labor Day Weekend in August-September. In between tournaments, you can rent a court to play tennis.

The 2024 Westminster Dog Show was held at the BJK National Tennis Center, but has returned to its usual home.

USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center

This is one of the world’s largest tennis stadium complexes. It has 33 courts including 17 show courts and 16 practice courts, including:

  • Arthur Ashe Stadium, with seating for over 23,000 under a retractible roof, is the world’s largest tennis stadium.
  • Louis Armstrong Stadium seats 14,000.
  • The Grandstand seats over 8,000.

The courts are hard courts which present a certain kind of tennis. Hard courts are faster than clay, but slower than grass.
