‘Django’ shows us how to respond to institutional racial hate ~ Keep going

‘Django’ is Étienne Comar’s French biographical drama about the legendary French Manouche “Hot Jazz” guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt.

Django had its North American premiere at Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Rendez-vous with French Cinema film festival on Wednesday March 1, 2017.

The movie is in French, German, English, and Romany with English subtitles.

Who is Django Reinhardt?

The best way to understand an artist is to listen to his music. Here’s Django’s rendition of Sweet Georgia Brown which you may recognize as the Harlem Globetrotters theme.

There is nothing like Django. The closest thing the States was Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys who played country swing.

Django in New York City
