Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is one of the leading flamenco dance companies in the United States.

It has a flamenco school with teaching artists and a touring company. It produces the Flamenco Certamen USA national amateur Flamenco competition.

Spanish Flamenco

Tablao Flamenco by Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is a flamenco show of Ida y Vuelta (roundtrip) flamenco that is influenced by Latin American culture. It’s part of Carnegie Hall’s Nuestros Sonidos festival of Latin culture at Le Poisson Rouge in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village; on Friday-Saturday, April 11-12, 2025 at 6:30pm and 7:30pm respectively. Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana

Artistic Director Carlota Santana founded the company with Roberto Lorca in 1983, and carried on after his death in 1987. It now has dance centers in Midtown, Manhattan and Durham, North Carolina. Santana has produced over 25 original works. She is on faculty at Duke University in North Carolina.

Like many national dances, flamenco is used as therapy for students with disabilities. It’s amazing to watch disabled young people become totally focused and connected inside the dance.
