Carlota Santana


The Artistic Director founded the company with Roberto Lorca, and carried on after his death in 1987. She has produced over 25 original works.

Santana is on faculty at Duke University in North Carolina.

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana was founded in New York City in 1983. It has dance centers in Midtown, Manhattan and Durham, North Carolina.

Like many national dances, flamenco is used as therapy for students with disabilities. It’s amazing to watch disabled young people become totally focused and connected inside the dance.
