The Shed

Frieze New York, NYC’s big spring contemporary art fair, presents over 60 galleries from 25 countries at The Shed in Hudson Yards; from Wednesday-Sunday, May 1-5, 2024. 🇧🇷 🇨🇴 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 🇲🇽 🇵🇭 🇵🇹 🇿🇦

This is one of those events whose influence reaches beyond the event floor. There are activations with partners across The City, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Storm King Art Center. Because the art world is in town, many museums and galleries schedule important exhibitions during Frieze Week.

A New Focus

The Fair’s Focus section features young galleries with solo exhibitions of emerging or overlooked artists. It’s a place to discover new talent. Lumi Tan, Luna Luna Curatorial Director, is this year’s curator.

About

Frieze is an international contemporary art magazine based in London and New York City. It now owns both Frieze New York and the Armory Show, New York City’s two big spring and fall contemporary art fairs. Both are anchors for a cluster of contemporary art fairs.

Frieze New York started in 2012 in a tent on Randall’s Island. Most people took a ferry to get there. It was fun.
