Highlights

Great Jazz on the Great Hill is a Jazz concert on the Great Hill in Central Park on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 4-7pm. Free. centralparknyc.org

Before Central Park was created, Seneca Village was an African American town.

A Great Day in Harlem is a Jazz concert at the General Grant National Memorial in Riverside Park in Morningside Heights on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 12-7pm. Free.

The title is a famous photo of 57 Jazz musicians in Harlem made by Art Kane for Esquire Magazine in 1958. It’s a who is who of Jazz with Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Art Blakey, Coleman Hawkins, Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, Lester Young and other legends.

Harlem Week’s NYC Children’s Festival Day 1 is in Howard Bennett Playground on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 12-5pm. Free.

The Imagenation Outdoor Film Festival is on the Great Lawn at St Nicholas Park on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 6-10pm. Free.

Harlem Week’s NYC Children’s Festival Day 2 is in Howard Bennett Playground on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 12-5pm. Free.

Harlem Week ends with a Harlem Day of performances by Dru Hill, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Grandmaster Caz & Melle Mel, a dance party, fashion show, performances by MJ The Musical from Broadway, on three stages, plus crafts, food and more, on West 135th St in Harlem on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 1-7pm.
