About the Kings Theatre
It opened in 1929 as the Lowe’s Kings Theatre. It was one of the original Loew’s Wonder Theatres. With the rise of multiplex theaters and the decline of the neighborhood, the Kings closed in 1977. The Kings was fully restored and reopened in 1977.
