Los Ángeles Azules is a Mexican Cumbia band, from México City, that plays Cumbia Sonidera, an electronic form of Mexican Cumbia. They are one of the top Mexican Cumbia bands.
They work with many top guest artists and play Cumbia with symphony orchestras. They call it Cumbia Sinfónica. How cool is that?

Los Ángeles Azules
The band’s name is Spanish for “The Blue Angels.” It is made up of the Mejía Avante family.
Their breakthrough hit was “Cómo te voy a olvidar” in 1997. They have rerecorded it with many major guest artists.
Cumbia is originally Colombian, but Luis Carlos Meyer Castandet worked with orchestra director Rafael de Paz in Mexico in the 1940s. Mexican Cumbia grew from this.
We love dancing Cumbia, and Mexican Cumbia has a funky cool vibe to it. You can dance with Cumbia, Two-Step/Foxtrot or Salsa steps, but the slower beat makes it easy to improvise. We’re originally from Los Angeles. This is the music of home.
