Malena Burke

The Cuban bolero singer is known for hits such as ‘Contigo Aprendi,’ ‘Me Voy Pa’l Pueblo,’ ‘La Longina’ and ‘Total.’

Malena is the daughter of Cuban bolero legend Elena Burke (1928-2002). The singer studied music in Cuba’s very strong arts education system. She first sang professionally with her mother at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba.

Cuba’s legendary Tropicana Club is where Malena made a name for herself. She also made popular recordings with Ng La Banda.

Lena Burke

Lena Burke, carries on her mother’s and grandmother’s family traditions in the Latin pop world. Her breakthrough was ‘Tu corazon’ featuring Alejandro Sanz.

The singer won a Latin Grammy in 2011 for Best Pop Vocal Album Duo or Group for her work with Alex, Jorge y Lena (Alex Ubago and Jorge Villamizar).

In the movie ‘La Mala’ Lena starred as the legendary Cuban singer La Lupe.

Cuban Boleros

Cuban boleros are slow-tempo romantic songs. At a party, they are the songs that you hope you get to dance with the one you love because you dance up close and tenderly, and they usually put the lights down a little.
