The world premiere of Mabou Mines’ “The Vicksburg Project” play, traces the experience of women and gender-fluid Americans in Vicksburg, Mississippi during the Civil War. The 1863 battle for the last stronghold of Confederate traitors on the Mississippi River, which included a long siege, was a turning point in the American Civil War (1861-65).
