Mano a Mano Posadas y Pastorelas

Celebrate Christmas Mexican style with Mano a Mano’s handicraft workshops, a posada procession (caroling), a shepard’s play, and a piñata party at Lehman College on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 12:30 to 4pm. FREE with rsvp (required)

This is about sharing our traditions with our children.

Posadas y Pastorelas

Posadas are a Mexican caroling tradition that blends Aztec and Christmas traditions.

Pastorelas or Shepards’ Plays are folk dramas that are performed during the holidays. They are a vestige of medieval Christian theater.

At a posada, the community sings, reenacts folk dramas, eats and drinks together. Kids can’t wait to break the piñata and get the candies inside.
