National Puerto Rican Artisans and Authors Fair Offers Great Artisanal Holiday Gifts and Family Entertainment

National Puerto Rican Artisans Fair (Ana L. Alicea/PRIDA)
National Puerto Rican Artisans Fair (Ana L. Alicea/PRIDA)

The National Puerto Rican Artisans and Authors Fair 2024 is a holiday market of Puerto Rican arts, crafts, and books made in Puerto Rico and across the Diaspora. The fair also offers family entertainment.

It’s four hours by plane to la Isla del Encanto, but you can get a little bit of Puerto Rico, right here in New York City. Thanks PRIDA!

National Puerto Rican Artisans and Authors Fair 2022 Recap ~ If this doesn’t make you homesick, you’re probably not Boricua

The 19th National Puerto Rican Artisans and Authors Fair 2024 offers four floors of family-friendly Puerto Rican music, bomba dancing, Taíno storytelling, Three Kings crown-making, and artisanal arts and crafts that make great holiday gifts. It’s at a new location this year, Boricua College in Washington Heights, Manhattan; on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 12-6pm. Free. 🇵🇷

National Puerto Rican Artisans and Authors Fair

The Fair is produced the Puerto Rican Institute of the Development of the Arts (PRIDA), and Comité Noviembre. PRIDA promotes Puerto Rican arts and culture. Comité Noviembre advocates for Puerto Ricans in New York, and promotes November as Puerto Rican Heritage Month.

We especially love the Santos de Palo, hand-carved wooden saints, and the vejigante masks, both the papier-mâché ones from Ponce, and the coconut ones from Loíza Aldea ~ la esencia de Puerto Rico.

This reminds us of the artisanal fairs on Sundays in Old San Juan.
