Hudson Square, sometimes called West SoHo, is a small neighborhood with warehouses along the Hudson River, the Holland Tunnel entrance to New Jersey, many media businesses and the Charlton-King-Vandam Historic District of Federalist and Greek Revival row houses.

January 2023

The Prototype Festival 2023 of contemporary opera and musical theater presents new voices, including Mexican folk singer Silvana Estrada’s beautiful “Marchita;” at Here in Hudson Square and other NYC venues; for one week Thursday, January 5-13, 2023. From $40. 🇲🇽

October 2022

The 49th NYC Village Halloween Parade 2022 celebrates “Freedom” on Sixth Avenue from Canal St to West 15th St through Hudson Square and SoHo, the West Village and Greenwich Village, to Chelsea. It’s on Halloween Monday, October 31, 2022 at 7pm, and live on NY1 at 8pm. Impromptu street parties in the Village go late. Free with VIP options to skip the line, march in a special section, or sit in the grandstand.

Many people who live in New Jersey recognize Hudson Square from the Holland Tunnel they use to get home.

WQXR’s The Greene Space, the Children’s Museum of the Arts, New York City Fire Museum, Pier 40 and Skylight Clarkson Square are also in Hudson Square.

The legendary Paradise Garage disco from the 1970s (think Madonna) was once at 84 King St.
