Paloma San Basilio is a Latin Grammy-winning Spanish Pop singer who is famous for starring as “Evita” in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s 1985 Madrid production.

Paloma San Basilio

Paloma was born in Madrid in 1950. Her first album was Sombras in 1975. Since then, she has released over 35 albums.

Paloma is best-known for starring in the first Spanish-language edition of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Evita in Madrid in 1985. She also starred in Madrid versions of several Broadway musicals including Man of La Mancha (1997), My Fair Lady (2001), and Victor/Victoria (2005).

Juntos (1981) was one of Paloma’s biggest hits.

Paloma was awarded a “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 7th annual Latin Grammys in 2006.
