Paul Henry Ramirez
Paul Henry Ramirez is an American artist with a Mexican heritage, known for his biomorphic abstraction. Biomorphism is design based on nature and living organisms. Ramirez mixes biomorphic forms with pure abstraction. He often works on site-specific installations.
Ramirez was born in El Paso, Texas in 1963. He started exhibiting in 1982. Later Ramirez moved to New York City where he found work designing windows and displays for department stores and boutiques. You can see that sensibility in his work.
Ramirez’ work is held in important collections such as the Hammer Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
