Several trains run from Pennsylvania Station New York to Penn Station, Newark. The trip takes about 30-45 minutes.
It’s just south of the Ironbound District, a neighborhood known for its excellent Brazilian, Portuguese, and Spanish restaurants.
If you drive, park somewhere secure. The first time I went to Newark in 1999, I wondered why my host drove around for so long, looking for a safe parking spot.
