The Thalia Spanish Theatre, in Sunnyside, is the only Hispanic theater in Queens. It’s currently directed by Angel Gil Orrios who produces theater and dance theatre.

Argentine Tango Show
TANGOmania is a new dance musical by Marga Jaurena and Angel Gil Orrios that follows Argentine tango’s journey from Buenos Aires, to Paris, to New York City. It stars dancers Guillermina Quiroga & Mariano Logiudice, and Analia Carreño & Luis Ramirez; with singers Ache Rey and Sofía Tosello. It’s at Thalia Spanish Theatre in Sunnyside, Queens; Thursdays-Sundays, from March 5-29, 2026. $55. 🇦🇷
Marga Jaurena is the daughter of Uruguayan bandoneon master Raúl Jaurena, who was the Thalia’s music director for 30 years.
Guillermina Quiroga is one of New York City’s best tango dancers. Argentines say watching her dance makes them cry ~ because they’ll never be able to dance like her.
The band has some of New York’s leading tango musicians including: Emiliano Messiez on piano, Sergio Reyes on violin, Latin Grammy-winner Pedro Giraudo on bass, Rodrigo Avalos on bandoneon, and Federico Diaz on guitar.
