Women’s World Cup France 2019

The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is in France from June 7 to July 7, 2019.

  • Group Stage ~ June 7-20
  • Round of 16 ~ June 22-24
  • Quarter Finals ~ June 27-29 in Le Havre, Paris, Valenciennes and Rennes
  • Semi Finals ~ July 2-3 in Lyon
  • Third Place ~ July 6 at 5pm ET in Nice
  • Championship ~ July 7 at 5pm ET at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon

Women’s World Cup France 2019 Teams

The USWNT (U.S. Women’s National Team) are reigning world champions and still #1 in the world with three World Cup wins in total.

Some of these teams are gaining official recognition by their countries for the very first time. Now is a very good time to get excited about women’s soccer/football.

World rankings are very different from the men’s teams, but these Latin teams and their star players generate just as much, or even more excitement on the field.

  • Argentina FIFA #37 ~ Star midfielder Estefania Banini #10 (Levante UD in Spain & Washington Spirit, USA)
  • Brazil FIFA #10 ~ Star striker Marta #10 (All-time leading scorer, Orlando Pride, USA)
  • Chile FIFA #39 ~ Star goalkeeper Christiane Endler #1 (PSG, France)
  • France FIFA #4 ~ Star Amandine Henry #6 (Olympique Lyon, France)
  • Italy FIFA #15 ~ Star Barbara Bonansea (Juventus, Italy)
  • Spain FIFA #13 ~ Star defender Irene Paredes (PSG, France)
  • USA FIFA #1 ~ Star defender Julie Ertz (Chicago Red Stars, USA)

Teams qualify by leading their regional confederations including CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean), CONMEBOL (South America) and UEFA (Europe).


Women’s World Cup France 2019 Groups

These are the initial groups:

  • Group A: France, Korea Republic, Norway, Nigeria
  • Group B: Germany, China PR, Spain, South Africa
  • Group C: Australia, Italy, Brazil, Jamaica
  • Group D: England, Scotland, Argentina, Japan
  • Group E: Canada, Cameroon, New Zealand, Netherlands
  • Group F: USA, Thailand, Chile, Sweden

The top two teams of each group advance. Third place gets a chance to advance.
