If you grew up in New York City or Miami, you know that Latin is Black. If you grew up in other parts of our country, you might not realize that.
But whether we live our lives as white or black, most of our popular culture is African. That is not only true for Latin pop culture, it is true for American pop culture too.
This year’s theme is AfroLatinX: Identity and Beyond.
