New York City’s most thrilling summer dance tradition is back. For its sixth edition, the BAAND Together Dance Festival reunites five of NYC’s most iconic companies — Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Hispánico, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and New York City Ballet — on one stage at Lincoln Center.
Five nights. Five companies. One extraordinary celebration of what dance can be when the city’s greatest artists share the same floor.

BAAND Together Dance Festival
This program was started when the COVID-19 Pandemic shut down the performing arts in NYC. It brought together NYC’s world-class ballet, modern dance, and contemporary dance companies. The association has provided a real lift to Ballet Hispánico and Dance Theatre of Harlem.
New York City Ballet is one of the world’s leading ballet companies. The legacy of George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins connects European and American traditions in classical ballet, neoclassical ballet, contemporary ballet with Hollywood and Broadway.
American Ballet Theater (ABT) is one of the world’s leading ballet companies. It dances everything, but leans towards classical ballet. It is a world leader in ballet diversity. Some ABT dancers like Mikhail Baryshnikov and Misty Copeland cross over into American popular culture.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is the African American dance company that popularized modern dance around the world. It has great Latin dancers too. Alvin Ailey performances have a unique spiritual dimension derived from the experience of being Black in the United States. Every performance is a revelation.
Ballet Hispánico is the nation’s leading Latino dance organization. It preserves Latin dance traditions and extends the canon with new choreographic work.
Dance Theater of Harlem (DTH) is the world’s first Black ballet company. It was founded by Arthur Mitchell and Karel Shook. Mitchell was the first Black principal dancer at New York City Ballet and a Balanchine protégé.
