Bergdorf Goodman

New York City’s most luxurious department store carries the world’s top designer collections including many Latin designers. It is famous for the quality of its service. This is Bergdorf’s women’s store.

Bergdorf’s is also famous for the artistry of its holiday windows which are generally considered to be the most artistic in New York City.

Bergdorf Goodman is NYC’s most luxurious department store

Bergdorf’s started as French immigrant Herman Bergdorf’s tailor shop in 1899. A Jewish-American apprentice Edwin Goodman bought an interest in the shop which became Bergdorf Goodman in 1901.

Goodman built the business on women’s tailoring. His introduction of ready-to-wear helped the business grow. The store moved to its iconic location at Fifth Avenue and 58th Street in 1928.
