Colombian Consulate NYC

The Colombian Consulate in New York City provides legal and cultural services to Colombians in New York City and tourists planning to visit Colombia.

There is a satellite consulate in Newark, New Jersey.


Colombian Consul General

María Isabel Nieto Jaramillo is the Consul General of Colombia in New York City.

She is an attorney trained at la Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, and the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.

Before becoming Consul, Nieto Jaramillo was the advisor and private secretary of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.

Nieto Jaramillo has brought a clean, progressive, youthful energy to her post. She has modernized Colombian Consulate outreach to use popular Colombian culture to promote business and tourism with Colombia.

Nieto Jaramillo is the 2017 chair of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York (SOFC). She won the “Diplomat of the Year Award” at the 2017 FAMA Latino Awards.

ColombiaFest IV Feria de Servicios features Colombian artists Nilko Andreas, Grupo Rebolu, and Bulla en el Barrio at Penn Plaza Pavilion at 401 Seventh Ave in Chelsea, Manhattan, Saturday – Sunday, October 21 – 22, 2017 from 10 am – 5 pm (6 pm Sunday). #LoMejorDeColombia

An exhibition of American artist Matthew O’Brien’s polaroid photos of Colombia, No Dar Papaya, opens with a book launch reception, Wednesday, November 9, 2017 from 6 – 8 pm. Through December 5, 2017.

Gabo y el Cine, a 2016 Mexican documentary about the Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez, screens on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 6 pm. Free
