Corto Circuito is New York City’s Latino shorts film festival. It is produced by Artistic Director Diana Vargas (Colombian) and Laura Turegano (Spanish), Associate Director of NYU’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center.

“Our principal objective in recent years has been to present films that, besides keeping the spectator on edge with their approaches to aesthetics and narrative, can provide a space for an open dialogue that considers the anxieties, obsessions, and common spaces that make up the Latino universe,” says Diana Vargas, Director and Co-founder of the festival.

Ms. Vargas once told us, “In Colombia, I am just Diana Vargas. In the States, I am labeled a ‘Latina.’ Why can’t I just be me?”

Foreign-language films are subtitled in English.
