Mott Haven Film Festival Puts Bronx Life on the Big Screen

The Mott Haven Film Festival amplifies Bronx film voices. The old South Bronx is a creative forge of New York City culture. We changed the world a few times already with jazz, salsa, and hip hop. For sure we will do it again because the Bronx is Beautiful!

Mott Haven Film Festival 2025

Bronx Music Hall

The Mott Haven Film Festival 2025 features film screenings and an awards ceremony at the beautiful Bronx Music Hall, in Melrose, The Bronx; on Saturday, October 4, 2025. There are screenings at 2pm, 5pm, and 8pm with an awards ceremony after the 8pm screenings. From $24. 🗽

The 2pm screening presents “The Hanged Man,” a feature film directed by Korab Uka, rated “R.”

The 5pm screening presents:

  • “Gladiator Day 0,” Directed by Dylan Hirsh
  • “emergunt chordae,” Directed by Masa Gibson
  • “B-Box,” Directed by Xavier Michael Griffiths
  • “Year Of The Catfish,” Directed by Gary Steven Fisher
  • “The Right People,” Directed by Caitlyn Nilo
  • “Sapphire’s Corner,” Directed by Nazira and Kwadjo Otoo

The 8pm screening presents:

  • “Lumalali Niwani,” Directed by Rufino Nery Bernárdes
  • “Closure,” Directed by Ashley L. Canfield
  • “WHAT’S GRIEF?,” Directed by Angel-Manuel Torres Jr.
  • “Queen of the Catskills,” Directed by Jaime Kennard

The Mott Haven Film Festival 2024 Screenings are at Bronxlandia in Hunts Point, The Bronx; on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1-4pm. $18 per screening session. @bronxlandia

1pm Screening:

  • “Bronx River” by Richard Troche

4pm Screening:

  • “Pep Talk” by Nero Dawn
  • “A Love Letter to The Bronx” by Devin Bienvenido
  • “Endless” by Lucy Bent
  • “Papi” by Ashley L. Canfield

7pm Screening:

  • “The Republican” by Jon Navarro
  • “Last House on the Block” by Jason Labuda
  • “The Brother-in-law” by Elroy Martinez Jr.
  • “Joey” by Jerry Landi

The Mott Haven Film Festival 2024 Awards Ceremony is at Bronx Brewery in Mott Haven, The Bronx; on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 2-5pm. $13. @thebronxbrewery
