Museum of the City of New York Celebrates 100 Years

The Museum of the City of New York is a living history of New York City. A lot of American popular culture started in New York including: baseball, Broadway, modern jazz (bebop), Latin jazz (cubop), salsa on2, disco, punk rock, and hip-hop. Argentine tango and reggaeton passed through.

The Museum documents New York City history and stories of New York today, which will become exhibitions in the future.

It has historic Theater and Costume & Textiles collections, and has put a large portion of its collection online where it can be enjoyed from anywhere in the world.
