The Orchid Show is flowering at the New York Botanical Garden

The Orchid Show is an annual spring exhibition in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory at the New York Botanical Garden in The Bronx.

16th Orchid Show

The 16th annual Orchid Show is Tuesday – Sunday, March 3 – April 22, 2018.

Daniel Ost Designs The Orchid Show

This year’s show is designed by acclaimed Belgian floral artist Daniel Ost. In Belgium, he has been called “the Picasso of flower arranging.”

Ost is a student of Noburu Kurisaki, a grand master of ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging.

Latin Orchids in The Orchid Show

We don’t know which orchids are in the show, but orchids are native to these Latin countries:

  • Argentina
  • Bolivia
  • Brazil
  • Colombia
  • Costa Rica
  • Ecuador
  • El Salvador
  • Guatemala
  • Honduras
  • Mexico
  • Panama
  • Paraguay
  • Peru
  • Venezuela

Did you know that vanilla flavor comes from the Vanilla orchid of Mexico?

Orchid Evenings

Orchid evenings through the exhibition’s run are a chance to enjoy music, tours, and special performances while having a drink in the gardens. ¡ Salud !
