Latin Shows

Chicago the Musical, is a musical about a good girl, a bad girl, a good man, and a bad man; though it’s not entirely clear who is who. It isn’t a Latin story, but its lead good girl and bad girl characters were developed by Latin legends Chita Rivera and Liza Minelli. Famous Latin performers regularly join the longest-running Broadway show. The producers make an effort to be multicultural. It’s at the Ambassador Theatre in the Times Square Theater District. 🇵🇷 🇮🇹 🇺🇸

Hamilton,” is a multicultural musical about the Caribbean orphan who founded the American financial system. The Broadway hit of our generation was written by Puerto Rican playwright and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda. It’s at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in the Times Square Theatre District. 🇵🇷

Moulin Rouge,” winner of 10 Tony Awards including “Best Musical,” is a jukebox musical based on the Baz Luhrmann movie about a classic rich man/poor man love triangle set in the legendary Paris cabaret. Remember “Lady Marmalade?” It’s at Hirschfeld Theatre in the Times Square Theater District. 🇫🇷

Prayer for the French Republic,” is a play about a family dealing with antisemitism in France. It’s at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in the Times Square Theater District. 🇫🇷 ✡️

Six the Musical,” retells the story of the six queens of Henry VIII as great women independent of him. Puerto Rican actress Didi Romero plays one of the wives. It’s at the Lena Horne Theatre in the Times Square Theater District. 🇵🇷

Other shows include popular hits such as “Aladdin,” “Back to the Future,” “Book of Mormon,” “Hadestown,” “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” “Lion King,” “MJ the Musical,” and “Wicked.”
