The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center is a community cultural center in the Lower East Side (Loisaida).

In the spirit of its namesake, the former PS 160 public school building is a home for Latin cultural organizations.

The Clemente Center was founded in 1993 by a Puerto Rican poet, Uruguayan director, and a Dominican actor. 🇩🇴 🇵🇷 🇺🇾

Clemente Soto Vélez (1905 – 1993, Lares – San Juan) was a journalist and poet who mentored artists in both Puerto Rico and New York. 🇵🇷
