The NYC Ferry Soundview line stops at Stuyvesant Cove, just south of the neighborhood.
Highways
FDR Drive is the main highway. Exit 7 enters the neighborhood.
The Kips Bay Neighborhood
Lexington between 27th and 29th St is “Curry Hill,” one of New York City’s “Little Indias.” Kalustyan’s spice shop at 123 Lexington (between 28th & 29th) is a feast for the senses.
Curry is traditional in parts of the Caribbean. When we’re in the neighborhood, we always stop and have a good curry like grandma used to make.
Waterfront
The Kips Bay waterfront is built up as Waterside Plaza. It’s the home of the United Nations International School.
NY Party Cruise departs from Skyport Marina. Their Latin Cruises are fun floating dance parties with gorgeous New York Harbor views.
Art Galleries
Mishkin Gallery is the art gallery of Baruch College (CUNY).
Movie Theaters
The AMC Kips Bay 15 is a popular movie theater.
Libraries
The New York Public Library runs two branches: Kips Bay branch and Epiphany branch.
Off-Broadway Theatres
Repertorio Español has been NYC’s Spanish-language repertory theatre for over 50 years. It is one of the most successful Off-Broadway theatres.
Schools
Baruch College is a CUNY senior college. It’s the home of the Baruch College Performing Arts Center and Mishkin Gallery.
The United Nations International School is in Waterside Plaza.

Neighborhood hospitals include NYU Langone Health, NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue and VA NY Harbor Healthcare System.
Government
The local government is Manhattan Community District 6 working with the Manhattan Borough President. The City government is NY City Council District 2. The U.S. government is US Congressional District New York 12.
