Cali, Colombia calls itself “The Salsa Capital of the World.” It seems like everyone dances salsa in Cali, and dances very well.

Cali has a stage form of competitive salsa danced by couples and groups. It’s very theatrical and very fun – both to dance and to watch. Many families send their children to salsa school to learn our heritage.

Salsa Colombiana dances 8 steps on 8 beats, whereas traditional salsa dances 6 steps on 8 beats. It’s so fast that Colombian Salsa looks like martial arts. It’s very beautiful. If a Caleño comes to the party, everyone wants to dance with them, because they are so good.
