‘Que León’ (What León) opens in select theaters on Friday, January 24, 2019. The movie is in Spanish.
This romantic comedy starring Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Ozuna and Dominican beauty queen and TV personality Clarissa Molina, is a big hit in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
Young lovers Nicole (Molina) and José Miguel (Ozuna) have the same last name, León, but come from very different social backgrounds.
Her father is a telecommunications tycoon who has plans to marry her off for the benefit of the business. His father runs an auto parts store.
The young couple has to deal with their parents who are naturally dead set against the relationship. It’s a naturally hilarious setup.
‘Que León’ Synopsis
Nicole and José Miguel meet in college. A loving night suddenly goes wrong in the morning when Nicole’s butler knocks on the door for breakfast while the couple is still in bed.
José Miguel escapes out the window, but is captured by her family’s security team. Nicolé rescues him from an interrogation by saying, “He’s my boyfriend” to her father’s shock and dismay. She insists he’s from a good family and suggests the families meet.
Her dad sends his private jet to fly José Miguel’s family to share a meal at his oceanfront estate. Both proud fathers think the other is strange and things get complicated.
Eventually Nicole’s dad comes up with something both fathers can agree on – a plan to end the relationship by bringing the kid’s ex’s back into the picture.
Naturally things get more complicated. To find out whether love conquers all, you’ll have to see the movie.
Ozuna
Ozuna is a huge reggaeton star, but his first movie is family-oriented. He completely drops the bad boy reggaeton image.
Clarissa Molina
Clarissa Molina was Miss Dominican Republic 2015 and represented the island in that year’s Miss Universe pageant. She was on Univision’s beauty pageant reality show ‘Nuestra Belleza Latina 2015’ and won the competition in 2016.
Molina is now a social media correspondent on the popular entertainment news show ‘El Gordo y la Flaca.’

The movie opens at Regal Union Square Stadium 14 in Union Square, Manhattan, Regal Cinemas E=Walk 13 in Times Square and more theaters in Brooklyn, The Bronx and Queens.
Que León is a Spanglish Movies release.
