The United Palace is a beautifully restored 1930 vaudeville theater and movie palace that serves as a spiritual, community, and cultural center in Washington Heights, Manhattan.
It regularly hosts music, film, and theatre including bachata, merengue, and reggaeton concerts.
It hosts a lot of Dominican culture because Washington Heights is Dominican.

About the United Palace
Built in 1930 as one of Loew’s “Wonder Theatres,” the United Palace was one of New York City’s premiere vaudeville and movie houses until 1969.
The architect Thomas Lamb also designed the Cort and Ziegfeld theaters. The interior designer Harold Rambusch also designed the Waldorf Astoria and Radio City Music Hall.
The interiors are a modern baroque fever dream. It’s really beautiful.
In the 1970s, the United Palace of Spiritual Arts saved New York City’s fourth largest theater from demolition. The 3,350 seat theater is now a house of worship and center for popular culture for Upper Manhattan communities.
Washington Heights is a Dominican neighborhood and the United Palace is one of New York’s centers of Dominican culture.
