Dayramir Gonzalez plays Minton’s Playhouse
Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 28, 2019 ~ The Dayramir Gonzalez Quartet plays Minton’s Playhouse, where bebop was born, in Harlem, NYC at 7:30pm & 9:30pm. No cover, but a $30 food and beverage minimum.
What an honor to play in the same room where Dizzy, Bird, Thelonious and many more legends created America’s classical music.
He was a teenage star in Cuba. He won Havana’s JoJazz Festival in 2004 and 2005, and three Cubadisco Awards for his 2007 debut album Dayramir & Habana enTRANCé.
The Cuban jazz pianist and composer puts New York, Cuba and Nigeria in his music. That’s jazz.
His latest recording is The Grand Concourse (2018) which refers to the great boulevard of The Bronx, the heart of Latin culture in New York City.
