About

Most Latin culture begins in the poorest barrio. Lincoln Center was built on San Juan Hill, an African American, Puerto Rican, and Caribbean community.

“The Jungles” was a hard, but wildly creative place. It still is. You have to be very creative to make it here, but if you can, you can make it anywhere.

The famous Broadway show and film, “West Side Story” was about life in the communities of San Juan Hill, the Black and Puerto Rican neighborhood that was redeveloped into Lincoln Center in 1964.

Don’t assume it is expensive. Some of the affordable seats are the best in the house.

Fall, winter, and spring is more classical. Summer festivals represent the diversity of New York City with lots of free events.

The David Rubenstein Atrium ticket office hosts free dance parties, concerts and family educational events all year long.
