The Bronx Museum is about us

The museum was founded in 1971 as a partnership between the Bronx Council on the Arts and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum moved to it’s current location in 1983.

“The Accordion” expansion opened in 2006. From some angles it looks rather like a Cubist United Nations.

The museum is led by Holly Block who has had a long association with Cuban art.
